Which HGV licence is right for your team?

When it comes to HGV training there are 4 types of licence available. Our expert team are always on hand to advise on which licence your team needs.

Category C1

Vehicles 3500kg-7500kg

Most commonly courier work, horse boxes or ambulance. If your team has passed your test prior to 1997 they will already have this entitlement by rights.

Category C

Vehicles 7500kg and above (Rigid)

Most commonly local haulage/ deliveries, tipper/ skips . The standard ‘entry-level’ HGV licence. Easy to drive Rigid body vehicle meaning no large trailer.

Category C+E

Vehicles 7500kg and above (Articulated)

This course allows your team to drive any HGV category. The FULL entitlement, allows your team to drive any HGV with or without a trailer.

CPC Training

Developing driver skills and knowledge

Driver CPC training is a legal requirement in the UK. Once acquired the certification acts as a ‘workers permit’, allowing your team to work and earn as a HGV driver.
